Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

My first three days in London have been a whirlwind of jet lag, English Breakfast tea, and flat hunting. We’re staying in Brentford, a town in West London adjacent to Chiswick. Its quite a cute area, and we stayed pretty local until recently. After lots of napping, we ventured out of our hotel to explore and do some basic things like finally obtain Oyster cards.

We haven’t had a lot of time for sight-seeing, as we’ve been looking for a place to live on a more permanent basis. However, we did get a chance to go visit the Royal Botanic Gardens on Tuesday. Referred to as Kew Gardens by the locals, the gardens, conservatories, art galleries, and Kew Palace are located on what was once a huge royal estate, with close ties to King George III.

Since we had limited time to spend there, we didn’t get to see all the grounds, which means it is still on my list of places to visit! Go figure. On to the next!

Cheers,

Natalie
